My biggest worry right now is that there will be less support to help people adapt to current changes, which is leading to an increase in homelessness and poverty on an unprecedented scale. Some people are even calling this the second Gilded Age. We need ways to help people stay afloat, such as guaranteed income, but the incoming administration has been strongly opposed to this. I am also concerned that, while I don’t think the current U.S. leadership will do much to regulate the development of artificial intelligence, they might actually remove existing safeguards, allowing AI to develop faster but with potentially more risks.
